Use this blog page to collaborate with other students and to discuss your thoughts about human rights and who or what is historically significant enough to merit our classes' creation of some form of remembrance. Periodically, there will be specific prompts you will address here. Guidelines for the use of this blog will follow in a future entry.

For our Human Rights project we choose Ruby Bridges. She was born September 8th, 1954 in Tylertown, Missippi. Later, Bridges attends William Frantz Public School For Whites in 1960. Ruby endes up being a class of one, after all the white parents pull there kids from the class. 1984 Ruby Bridges marries Malcolm Hall in New Orleans. Her brother, Miltion, dies in 1993. In 1996 Oprah Winfrey reunites her with Mrs. Henry on the OWS. Ruby establishes the Ruby Bridges Foundation and publishes a book in 1999. 2007 she is featured in the exhibit The Power Of The Children: Making a Difference at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Ruby Bridges is a powerful role model for younge colored girls and this is why we choose her.
